Oh, I see, they are talking about something called "Java SE". Huh, what's that, there are versions of Java up to 16? One article mentions that Java 8 has been deprecated for years. If I am up to date, why is Eclipse complaining, I wonder? So I google Java 11. Oracle offers me to download Java 8 Update 291, released April 2021. Once upon a time, changing which component would appear throughout a whole set of GoLive documents within a site would actually update the contents of all those documents using that component. One other aspect of site management, re-usable code snippets - called ‘Library’ items by Dreamweaver and ‘Components’ by GoLive - deserves a mention in the nightmare department, especially on the GoLive side (even though I generally prefer the GoLive approach to components). Try Online Counseling: Get Personally Matched What could be simpler! If this is ever something you need to do, GoLive makes it so simple you hardly even notice it, while Dreamweaver makes it a nightmare. GoLive makes it easy to upload site files without template tags or comments.Ī simple checkbox sets a preference - which can be site-specific or for all sites - to upload pages without template tags (“Adobe GoLive Elements”), comments, or even extraneous spaces (like those used to indent lines of code). Yes, it can be done, but it requires a circuitous journey of first exporting a template-free version of the site to a separate folder, and then separately uploading files from that exported version of the site to the actual web server Worse yet, the export function does not work reliably, sometimes inserting additional “notes” folders or other detritus into the exported version even when explicitly told not to do so, and sometimes exporting parts of the site that have not been modified since the last export, even when told not to do so.īy comparison, uploading without template tags or comments is a picture of simplicity with GoLive. (I cannot comment on the merits of either product for multi-user environments where different authors may be changing different parts of a site a the same time, simply because I haven’t had the opportunity to try it.) GoLive’s abilities to synchronize local and remote files, as well as basic functions like uploading modified files, work much more reliably than Dreamweaver’s (even accounting for the crashes).Īnd in terms of usability, Dreamweaver still suffers from what has become a real pet peeve of mine: an apparent inability simply to upload site files stripped of template tags or comments. Having said that, in my view, GoLive remains the vastly superior product when it comes to handling site updates performed by a single author. It was far quicker simply to SSH to the web server separately and delete or rename files from the UNIX command line. For example, my test copy of GoLive CS2 seemed pathologically prone to crashing when using the function to upload modified files to the web server, and using GoLive to accomplish simple tasks at the server end - such as deleting a couple of files - turned out to be so slow as to be nearly useless. ![]() Unfortunately, both also suffer from annoying site management bugs and shortcomings in usability.

Knowing the terminal velocity, the size and density of the sphere, and the density of the liquid, Stokes' law can be used to calculate the viscosity of the fluid. Electronic sensing can be used for opaque fluids. If correctly selected, it reaches terminal velocity, which can be measured by the time it takes to pass two marks on the tube. A sphere of known size and density is allowed to descend through the liquid. ![]() Stokes' law is the basis of the falling-sphere viscometer, in which the fluid is stationary in a vertical glass tube. Otherwise the change in driving head, which in turn changes the shear rate, will produce a different viscosity for the two bulbs. The use of two timings in one viscometer in a single run is only possible if the sample being measured has Newtonian properties. This also allows the viscometer to have more than 1 set of marks to allow for an immediate timing of the time it takes to reach the 3rd mark, therefore yielding 2 timings and allowing subsequent calculation of determinability to ensure accurate results. Such classifications exist so that the level can be determined even when opaque or staining liquids are measured, otherwise the liquid will cover the markings and make it impossible to gauge the time the level passes the mark. Reverse-flow viscometers have the reservoir above the markings, and direct-flow are those with the reservoir below the markings. Such viscometers can be classified as direct-flow or reverse-flow. By multiplying the time taken by the factor of the viscometer, the kinematic viscosity is obtained. The time required for the test liquid to flow through a capillary of a known diameter of a certain factor between two marked points is measured. Most commercial units are provided with a conversion factor. The calibration can be done using a fluid of known properties. The time taken for the level of the liquid to pass between these marks is proportional to the kinematic viscosity. Two marks (one above and one below the upper bulb) indicate a known volume. In use, liquid is drawn into the upper bulb by suction, then allowed to flow down through the capillary into the lower bulb. Above there is a bulb, with it is another bulb lower down on the other arm. In one arm of the U is a vertical section of precise narrow bore (the capillary). Another version is the Ubbelohde viscometer, which consists of a U-shaped glass tube held vertically in a controlled temperature bath. These devices are also known as glass capillary viscometers or Ostwald viscometers, named after Wilhelm Ostwald. Ostwald viscometers measure the viscosity of a fluid with a known density. Standard laboratory viscometers for liquids These values are used for calibrating certain types of viscometers. s and its kinematic viscosity (product of flow time × factor) is 1.0022 mm 2/s.The flow conditions must have a sufficiently small value of Reynolds number for there to be laminar flow.Īt 20 ☌, the dynamic viscosity (kinematic viscosity × density) of water is 1.0038 mPa The drag caused by relative motion of the fluid and a surface is a measure of the viscosity. ![]() In general, either the fluid remains stationary and an object moves through it, or the object is stationary and the fluid moves past it. Viscometers can measure only constant viscosity, that is, viscosity that does not change with flow conditions. Thus, a rheometer can be considered as a special type of viscometer. For liquids with viscosities which vary with flow conditions, an instrument called a rheometer is used. Humans acquire the disease by direct contact with parturient animals or their placentas. ![]() The mode of transmission is by inhalation of aerosols containing C. Acute Q fever is characterized by an antibody response to phase II antigen, while chronic Q fever is characterized by a higher response to phase I antigen.Ĭhronic Q fever (endocarditis and granulomatous hepatitis) is confirmed by: a) a complement fixation titer of 1:200 or greater to phase I antigen, or b) IgG antibody titer of 1:800 or greater by microimmunofluorescence. A four-fold rise in antibody titer is considered diagnostic. Since most laboratories do not have the capability to isolate the organism, serologic tests are most common means of diagnosis including complement fixation and indirect fluorescent antibody tests. While still not adequately described in man, it is likely that Q fever during pregnancy results in chronic uterine infection with relapse during subsequent pregnancies as it does in other female mammals ( 27, 42).īecause the illness is often nonspecific in clinical presentation, laboratory testing is necessary to confirm the diagnosis. Chronic Q fever is a much more serious illness and almost always means endocarditis, although infection of an aortic prosthesis or aneurysm is another manifestation of chronic Q fever ( 38). Rarely it is a cause of constrictive pericarditis ( 4). Acute Q fever has a variety of clinical presentations including self-limited febrile illness, pneumonia, hepatitis, meningoencephalitis, and pericarditis. Q fever has two major manifestations in man, acute and chronic infection. In the United States, 71 cases of Q fever were reported to the Centers for Disease Control in 2003. Q fever has been reported from all continents except New Zealand and Antarctica, but the precise incidence is unknown because diagnostic tests are usually not performed and reporting of cases is not required. Cats are the primary reservoir for Q fever in Nova Scotia, Canada and occasional cases have been linked to dogs. The most common animal reservoirs are cattle, sheep and goats. The epidemiology and animal reservoir varies by country. This resulted in three monophyletic groups. ![]() Glazunova et al ( 12) used multispacer sequence typing to characterize 173 isolates.
